Winning project of the Le Due Bari public tender funded by MIC and the Municipality of Bari, year 2023
The project ‘A qualcuno piace danza’ is a journey through distant lands via the performing arts, a tool for cultural cohesion and a bridge to the suburbs of large cities. Beyond borders with dance steps, a journey that explores, from training to performance, the cultures and traditions of distant countries, breaking down distances, eliminating linguistic differences, and valuing diversity as a resource for building a multicultural community in which everyone has the right to enjoy the arts.
The project raises the curtain on the arts of ancient past populations, on the scents of the East, on the past splendours of the Spanish, on African traditions, on the new artistic currents of northern Europe, contributing concretely to the economic and social development of the third sector operators involved as protagonists and to the implementation of lasting processes of cultural regeneration, recovering the positive idea of a culture of work, solidarity and merit.
Five days of performances in the districts of San Paolo, Loseto, Catino, San Girolamo and Mungivacca, paying tribute to intercultural dialogue and featuring the participation of professional companies Breathing Art Company
