Winning project of the Urbis call organised by the Municipality of Bari, 2019 The aim of the ‘The creativity gym’ project is to create a multidisciplinary hub within the
Carrassi neighbourhood, establishing the association’s headquarters as a meeting place not only for sporting activities, but also for socialising, integration, sharing and growth among participants, with a view to developing a socially active community.
All activities are aimed at socialisation and bringing at-risk individuals out of isolation, in the name of dialogue between cultural, religious and ideological differences, in order to further develop existing social roots and support the intercultural dialogue that inevitably arises during and after the activities. The project aims to promote a common sense of belonging and participation and can therefore also be an important tool for integration.
The project involves the implementation of sporting and artistic activities (contemporary dance, gymnastics, Pilates, folk dance, physical activity, yoga, dance therapy, theatre, singing, painting and photography workshops) for adults and children, who will be involved in activities throughout the entire duration of the project (1 year).
The project also includes regular (monthly) workshops called ‘Alla scoperta di…’ (Discovering…), in which the partners involved will hold meetings on topics such as health, food and nutrition, and posture, as well as other art forms such as photography, painting, theatre, and music. The added value of the project will be the activities held in outdoor locations, in particular at the ‘Casa delle bambine e dei bambini’ Multipurpose Centre for Early Childhood in Bari and at the Gargasole Park in the Carrassi district of Bari.
