The first preparatory visit included in the project “Step by Step, discovering Europe” took place from 1st to 4th of May in Bourg-en-Bresse in France, in collaboration with our partner Passaros Compagnie.

“Step by Step: Discovering Europe” is an initiative under the Erasmus+ Mobility of Sport Staff program funded by the Italian National Agency that wants to empower sports staff, dance instructors, and trainers by facilitating cross-border collaboration. Through the exchange of knowledge, skill refinement, and exposure to various teaching and training methodologies, participants can gain valuable insights and expertise. This program presents a distinctive chance for coaches, staff, and volunteers to broaden their horizons and make meaningful contributions to their personal and professional growth.

During the first preparatory visit in Bourg-en-Bresse, we could increase the relationship with the French partner, setting up the activities planned in the project and program of sports to be assisted by the mobility staff during the next job shadowing period.

In particular, we visited the Maison de la Culture and Théâtre Municipal to understand the cultural realities of our French partner, letting us develop a customized program for the next few months.

Furthermore, the meetings with the Passaros Compagnie’s artistic director Emilie Borgo and the Moroccan guest choreographer Wajdi Gagui led us to set up the planning of activities for July.

It was also interesting attending the rehearsals of the social inclusion work that the choreographers Emilie Borgo and Wajdi Gagui have created for the Théâtre in which French youngsters and young migrants have been involved.
